I thought about this for a while ‘time, but I never found an adequate answer. Why is that mothers (parents) when a child has a single type of bedding for the nursery? “I find it strange that at least three different sets have. I have at least 4 different bags (read all in the same color scheme) for each bedroom. I always find it strange that a child should be stuck with a set of bed linen. E ‘in the first place only one money?

Why do you need so many? I only have 1 bed in a bag for our master room, but i have plenty of blankets. As for my baby im doing the same thing. She will have one bed in a bag but plenty of differant blankets. Maybe you have the money but i dont have a couple hundred dollars sitting around for bed sheets! lol But yea i would say the reason people only have one is a money thing.

Well, sure. I mean, why have 4 when the baby doesn’t care? That seems like conspicuous consumption. I would just buy a crib bumper and then have like 3 crib sheets in complementary colors (because there are nights with newborns where they might actually soil 2 and you’ll NEED that 3rd sheet-glad THOSE days are over!)

I would think it is a money thing for sure. We are pregnant and happy about it. I would like at least two sets that will match the color scheme

Having several bedding sets isn’t necessary. You should, of course, have several sheet sets, but the comforter (baby’s aren’t even supposed to be put to bed with blankets), bumper, and skirt aren’t items that get used/soiled that often. I certainly don’t have 3 comforters for my bedroom. That’s why we have washing machines.

I’m not really sure what you’re asking, but I would only get one bedskirt. They can’t use the bumper or the blanket, so really it’s just the skirt and sheet. Most people have more than one sheet in case theirs gets dirty. I also don’t have 4 sets for myself–I love my comforter and sheets. Now, I have two different sets of sheets, but the comforter is the same. I think it’s weird to have a bunch of different bedding sets. For some it might be a money issue, but not everyone. Some people are just more picky :-)

I have a lot of fitted crib sheets in many different colors, but I only bought one “bedding set” because babies aren’t supposed to sleep with a quilt anyway, so I hung it on the wall as decoration.

Money and storage would be the issue. I just do not have the room for all that linen.

Why on earth do you need 4??? We always had the crib bumper (a different one for each of our kids). And then like 3 or 4 matching sheets to change when necessary or as needed. They don’t need 4 complete sets – bumper, skirt, everything. Do you really think they care??
As for the bedroom, we have one comforter that we use as well as blankets underneath that we mix and match during the seasons. I have spare comforters. But I don’t go around changing the entire freakin bedroom around. I am busy – work full time and have 3 kids – I honestly don’t have time for that….

  9. CM says:

well if you have the money and storage go for it i guess but MOST people cant afford 4 diff bedding lol it’s kindof silly maybe when she is older

I only have one bedding set, why would he need more then that? I just have about 5 crib sheets that match it, but why would I need another bumper and everything?

When he gets older, then I would buy a new one, but I still don’t think he would need a bunch of bedding, as long as you have plenty of blankets. I think having more then 2 bedding sets for a crib is a little ridiculous, especially when you’re coordinating with other things in the room, like a lamp, mobile, etc. That’s alot of unecessary stuff to buy. Really, just even having that much bedding is uneccesary.

  11. Hannah's mommy says:

well, you probably have 4 different sets because typically “bed in a bag” sets are on the cheap side!
I have 5 different sheets that coordinate with her bedding set that I switch around but that is it. With a newborn, I don’t have the time to change the bumper and bed skirt “just because” I would much rather spend that time with my daughter.

You’re forgetting that the baby doesn’t care. He can’t even SEE (20/20 vision) until he’s 8 months old….. why would he care what’s in his room?
It’s really just for the parents. And believe me, taking care of an infant is difficult enough – I don’t need to change the theme of his room every other week….
