I have a friend who needs help with baby items. It has over 15 years and seven months pregnant. Has the support of his parents, but they are a family with low income. Can someone tell me where can I find articles for children, free or low near the surface of Chicago to help this family.

   well if it is for you and you are in an area that has a program called “my brothers keeper” google it within your area and call the number that is closest to you. or you can visit the closest welfare office and explain your situation to them… any hospital… un-planned pregnancy groups… WIC anywhere …. ask your doctor next visit… but if you are looking for someone else… tell them what i told you and it WILL help. i am an unfortunate parent… its not all about toys… and if you teach that to the young ones the stuff you do present them with will be a great gift… spoiled kids most always grow up with lesser friends anyways

   WIC is a wonderful program offered by the government. You have to apply, but being as the mother is 15 their probably isn’t very much income coming in so I am sure she would qualify. I had WIC with my first child, I had him at 19 and it was a life saver. They give you formula, milk, peanut butter, juice ETC. I have my second baby now and am 29. I am very self sufficient to take care of her, but I appreciate that there was a program out there when I really needed help.

   Gosh I wish I could help, I have lots of baby stuff but im in australia. I had my first baby when I was 16 and my second one in my late 20′s. You could try with local churches, they often are a good place to start and may be able to help.

   E-bay is also excellent for cheap ( alhough obviously not free) clothes.

   You know what, I wouldnt mind sending baby clothes overseas, it is more the big stuff that would be impossible . You can e-mail me at vanessahmarie@hotmail.com if you like. I have lots of little singlets, jumpsuit things, wraps etc. Does she know the sex? Your a really good friend to help her and I hope that she gets everything she needs.

   I have this sleeper/outfit in size 3-6 months that I received as a gift and I am very fortunate to have everything I need & more and I have received two of these! Its from Kohls and I don’t have one near me and its just not worth it to me to return it, I was planning on donating it to a pregnancy resource center, but I would be happy to mail it to you free of cost if you emailed me your mailing info.
