One of the things that I didn’t think would be worth it but totally was, was a baby swing. You can strap them in, they won’t fall out, and it will put them to sleep sometimes when you are at the end of your rope! Even the smaller and cheaper travel swings are great.
We also had the bouncy seat, but it wasn’t as useful. Play yard is ok, but it’s not necessary. We got very little use out of it. Baby was happier to just have a quilt in the floor to play on.
A good sling, a stretchy wrap like a Moby or Sleepy Wrap is great. Absolute godsend, good resale value, and available second hand too.
Most useful things for me: Boppy, pair of boobs (budget friendly, formula is expensive!), a moby wrap, and a baby papasan chair.

our stroller was one of the biggest purchases. i wouldnt trade it for the world. its the jeep jogging one. perfect for really anything!
I think the most useful are carseat, stroller, baby diapers, wipes and clothes. It actually worth the money.

Newborn clothes- depending on the weight of your baby. My baby weighed 8lbs 3oz and dropped to 7lbs before we came home. I had only like 7 newborn sleepers and 5 or 6 outfits and 1 snow jacket thing (she was born in jan and it was super cold). She had time to wear the outfits probably only once before she grew out of them. The sleepers she wore more but grew out of those before she was a month old and weighed around 9lbs. Buying only a few nb clothing items will save alot. Or even buying them used. Just having a few nice things for the coming home outfit and church would have done fine for me. I didn’t take baby out of the house very much though (it was very cold and snowy)
Swing- my baby loved her swing until about 10 weeks. It was a life saver when I was just tired of holding her all day.
At 3 months she now loves her play yard and the boppy chair- i dont know if it actually works to help them sit up faster yet buy she loves to sit in there and look around. I also have this activity chair that has these animals that hang near her feet and when she kicks them it plays music and lights up a mirror. That’s from leapster and she loves that too (until she gets tired)
I would spend the money on getting a good swing but for the other stuff I wish I would have bought used because you never know what they will like. I have a vibrating play chair that she screams at when i even try to put her in.
If your planning on breastfeeding investing in a good and that means expensive pump will save you life. Those manual ones take forever and hurt so iv heard. i have the medella pump in style and it works great. If you are not planning on going to work after there are cheaper medellas that would work just as well.

My musthaves are a swaddle blanket ( i got mine from my aunt who had just had a baby right after i found out i was pregnant.) of course a carseat (i’d buy new, it’s worth it to know your baby is safe) an infant carrier is a lifesaver, i didn’t think i’d need one for my first child but bought one later and it was very helpful. a swing. if you want to make having a baby as cheap as possible Breastfeed and get cloth diapers, cuz bottles, formula and diapers are expensive.
