I have yet to find something that hold my sons attention for that long except his walker and his jumper. Oh, he does like playing with his shoes and a clean dishtowel. Babies at that age have a very short attention span.
you’re probably right about sticking with teething toys, because I can’t imagine a 6 month old giving ANYTHING attention for 10 minutes! the only thing I can suggest is to get an exci-saucer or walker that has toys attached to it (& musical things that light up!). I also have 3 kids, a 4 year old, a 2 year old and a 6 month old. None of my children could keep attention that long on anything besides eating or watching their siblings play & make noise! good luck!
The ‘Baby Einstein’ range has everything you mentioned. I have a star that lights up, plays twinkle twinkle little star, says goodmorning and goodnight in spanish, french and english, it has nighttime sounds and alarm clocks etc. It even has a rattle and is in bright colours. I bought this secondhand, washed it, and it still has plenty of life.
Even though it does everything you could possibly imagine, my son plays with it for a few minutes then moves on to something else like an empty water bottle or empty cereal box.
Sophie the Giraffe is a great teething toy and is made with safe rubber and food dye.
Also my 6 month old loves to be in his jumper.
My son loves his light show we bought him.. If we lie him down and put the light show on, he will just lay and watch it for over 15 mins and sometimes even falls asleep to it. It plays nursery rhymes too.
Here’s a link to the one my son has, I find it really useful as it also distracts him long enough for me to go and get a shower etc.
