I just bought my new baby is a Fisher Price Rattle. War in the package when I bought it so I do not know until I have a house, had smelled like horrible chemicals. The instructions say wash it before use with warm water and soap. I have to do it with all his new toys, but not take away terrible smell, I do not want it put into the mouth that way. How do I get the smell out? I tried soap and water and sodium bicarbonate. What else should I try for?

   take it back and exchange it or by another toy. You did everything you suppose to do.

   Boil it in water it will kill germs and it will get the smell off!
