1.00 an item for used stuff…
It could depend on the labels–certain children’s clothing labels have pretty good resale value.
But if they are just basics, I would lump them together in lots according to size and sell them that way.
The plain onesies I would sell for .50 cents each
Onesies with print and long sleeved 75 cents each
Pants 75 cents each
The outfits if are set $2.00 each outfit
Bathrobes $1.75
Sweaters $1.00 each
Let people know that you are selling them as a lot I hope this has helped
Here’s a link to a question I asked that was pretty much identical so you can see what people told me: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AjflaHoIc__QCAXv0LHAxDXty6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20070212121932AAyZqF2
Personally, I’d try to put them into larger lots of similar items grouped together. You’ll probably get an average of a couple bucks per item, with a bit more for outfits, and less for plain onesies.
I’ve had garage sales for 10 years now with excellent success. I mark everything 1/3 of what I paid for it…not the actual value, but of what I paid. Also, if the item is “new” or “worn one time” mark it on there to let potential buyers know that. Good Luck!
craig’s list is bad news any body who goes there is getting arrested i swear tell everybody you know!
Unless you are having a garage sale, I would list it as a lot on Craigs list (list boy or girl as well). $20? Most individual items sell for about 50 cents, outfits maybe $2 at garage sales unless they are high buck in the first place.
Try searching and looking at other items on there and see what they go for.
Also, your price will dictate how fast you sell them. Too high, and it may take a long time….and you have dribbles of money coming in…and taking up a bunch of your time driving around, etc. selling bits and pieces. Price it too low, and well, at least you’ll get rid of them fast….and still not all at one time.
Idea: Price them individually, but also offer a big discount (like 25-50% off) if they take everything as a complete deal. You’ll get rid of them fast and still get a wad of cash for minimal work time.
My wifey, says, 25% of the new price makes for quick and clean sales!
My philosophy on selling clothing is .50 – $1.00 for most items. I’d rather move a large volume of them if I’ve made up my mind I don’t want them rather than hold out and try to get a lot of money for individual items.
$1.00 a piece.
$5.00 for the whole lot.
