I always try to buy a size up if I can get away with it…I buy Olivia new clothes when she grows out of her old ones.

When I was pregnant, I shopped garage sales, thrift stores and craigslist for anything in good condition up to size 2T (I drew the line there due to storage). I didn’t pay attention to season or gender because I figured if I didn’t use it for my first child, I might use it for my second and worst case scenario, I’d put it all back on craigslist and recoup my money. When my daughter was ready to move up a size, I’d look at what I already had and supplement as necessary. I spend very little on my daughter’s clothing all in all.

i alway upsize…. and i tend to buy her something new if we are going somewhere so she wears new to an occasion and the more messed up her clothes get then she wears them for nursery cos she gets filthy there… anything thats kept well luckily im having another girl in july so iv been putting stuff away, this 2nd one should be less expensive….”in theory” haha x

I buy maybe a new shirt or a pair of bottoms once a week. I also buy one size up so my son can wear it longer.

I bought all the clothes I will need for the first year from thrift stores. I have TONS and TONS of new looking clothes, and the total bill was only about $200. If I bought all these clothes new it would have been $2000.

I highly recommend buying used baby clothes. The baby won’t care, it is less expensive, and better for the environment. It is a win-win-win.

Because I buy clothes used, and I don’t have to “buy larger” or be protective of the clothes, or limit how much I can buy.

Even Walmart and Target clothes are very expensive compared to used, and used you can buy the brand name stuff and easily afford it. Plus it all looks like new cause as you said, you keep having to buy larger sizes.

My little girl is ten weeks old tomorrow, and I have only had to buy a couple things for her so far, oh and nappies. I got sooooo many things while I was pregnant and at my baby shower, and all in different sizes. Although, I have mostly summer things, and winter is coming up so I will have to buy lots of warmer clothes soon. Plus she is growing really quickly too. I agree with how expensive baby clothes are!!
