I washed them in dreft separately from the rest at first
once he was over a month old (which really was not needed, i could have done so much sooner) i just started washing them in the same loads as the rest.
unless you baby has sensitive skin there should not be a problem.
and personally i would wash poopy cloths separate… after rinsing them and putting a stain spray on them though.
I wash my daughters clothes with mine and with gain all in cold water, all go in the dryer.
I used to do the same thing with my oldest. Now I use Gain, because it is stupid to buy to different detergents when I think Gain is just as good as drift. I’ll buy Drift occasionally but not much. I also add more detergent then it calls for. I use Gain dryer sheets. I still wash them seperate from mine and my husbands clothes though but that is mainly just because I work in healthcare and he works in a food factory, so I don’t want there clothes to be washed with all the germs we pick up.
no, I wash mine in hot water and don’t separate them and I use whatever detergent we use — all free and clear, currently. I dry them on hot or warm too. I’ve never used baby detergent because I figured that if I was washing my own clothes and sheets and towels and whatnot in regular detergent and my baby was laying on me or on the bed or playing with something I washed then he was being ‘exposed’ to it anyways. I use cloth too and baby detergent isn’t the best for them. wash ‘em all together unless you really like the smell of the baby detergent (which is nice I do think).
You simply washed the linens seperate – BS.
i wash them separate than ours and with all free and clear because dreft has perfume in it
Everyone’s clothes & linens go in together – adults & babies – and we use regular detergent (Tide or Costco brand)
I only separate by colors and whites.
I don’t think I have ever read a label on any of the baby clothes, only on some of the coats we bought.
i wash ALL babies clothes together, with the baby towels, in one load – and use baby detergent called LUX
i was poo stained clothes seperate as i soak them first
i dont read labels, i just wash – dont have time to seperate and i havent had a problem
babies clothes get dried in the dryer cause i’m not gonna hang out all those little bitty clothes
I was all the baby clothes together, I never mix our clothes with his clothes. in warm water with unscented liquid soap, whatever brand as long as the soap is white and unscented for hypoallergenic reasons.
if clothes has poop on it I soak it for a bit
i have sensitive skin, so always use a non-perfumed detergent for all of the laundry.
my son’s clothes are washed with ours, only i make sure it’s on a gentle cycle as he has some delicate items – plus if i hang it out straight away after a gentle cycle i don’t need to iron!
i was the linens seperately because they aren’t on a gentle cycle.
and i wash anything with vomit, wee or poop seperately with hot water.
i seperate the clothes into these piles:
whites
bibs (once he started solids) (his bibs are put directly in laundry soaker in a bucket until he’s used up enough for a full wash – this prevents any stains which is great!)
towels
coloured clothes
blacks
linen
and cleaning cloths.
I wash my son’s separate with gain and cold water.
I wash all of my daughters clothes separate from mines and my hubby’s. At first i washed them with baby detergent and by 5 months or so i used our regular detergent tide in cold water. I wash all her clothes and sheets together, i’ve never had poopy clothes but if i did i would probably wash them by hand first and then throw them in with the rest of the clothes. She’s 15 months right now and i don’t know when i’ll wash her clothes with mine yet,
I wash the babies clothes seperate but I have always just used gain and I dont pay attention to the labels I wash them all in warm water after I let them sit with shout on the stains. I was all the rest of are clothes in cold and that doesnt get all the babies stains out very well.
With my first I washed all his clothes seperate with Dreft for almost a year. He was my first and I went overboard.
Shortly after I had my second, who has sensitive skin I started doing alot of reading and found that there are chemicals that arent good for adults or children in alot of products, soaps, detergents, lotions, sunscreen!!!!! bug sprays. So now I buy Earths Best laundry soap and use it for everyone. I wash everyones clothes together. If there was a poopy mess I would rinse it in the sink then throw it in the laundry.
I wash my baby’s clothes & lines all together, but separate from mine & my husbands clothes. I wash them in cold water & I use All Free & Clear.
I wash them with regular soap, but I do seperate her clothes from ours because I kept finding socks and shirts inside our pant legs or tangled around something in a mess lol. But I think thats personal preference. I don’t think the soap matters to much unless you baby has an allergy to regular laundry soap. It hasn’t bothered my daughter at all.
I wash them with everything else right from birth in regular tide HE liquid with a double rinse, baby detergent is a waste of money and completely unnecessary you just wash like normal and double rinse and it’s fine
Baby is 4 mths and I wash all of his clothes in Ivory Snow. Everything goes in the dryer without a dryer sheet.
Poopy clothes I rinse first but wash with the other stuff.
We chuck my daughter’s clothes in with ours because we don’t have our own washer and dryer and only do laundry once every week or two. She doesn’t have enough clothing to constitute a full load when all her stuff is separated. I separate her clothes just like we separate ours: whites, colors, darks. We wash her linens (sheets and blankets) with the rest of our laundry as well.
Her pediatrician recommended the “free and clear” liquid detergents that don’t contain dyes or perfumes (she said you don’t have to buy special baby detergent). That was great news for us since we already use that kind (my husband is sensitive to strong scents). I don’t really miss the cloying sweet smell of detergent and the clothes still smell clean. Pediatrician said you can also use regular detergent, but just watch for signs of rash or irritation as babies do tend to have more sensitive skin than adults. If your baby does have sensitive skin, the free and clear stuff will help.
She’s only had a few poopy messes. In those instances, I rinsed out her clothes or whatever in the sink and sprayed on some stain remover (like Shout). I then washed it when laundry day rolled around and everything has come out so far.
I do the same i wash my baby clothes with drift but i do wash her clothes separately because babyies skin or senstive and you cant really wash there clothes with the same detergent. Actually, just put all his or her clothes in the wash poopy r not the washing machine gonna take care of it for you i promise lol.
For the first year I used Purex detergent for all of our clothes. I have always washed Mady’s clothes separately from ours. Occasionally if I have something light colored I may toss it in with her stuff. When I go to sort laundry, I actually separate my laundry into Mady’s pile, my pile, and my boyfriend’s pile except for whites I wash my bf’s and mine together because I always bleach white shirts, socks, underwear, towels and washcloths(well minus Mady’s!). I am sort of weird about how I do laundry. I have a pile of my whites, reds, blacks & navys, and light pink, blue, yellow, non-bleach whites. I guess it is a good thing I have a high efficiency washer & dryer!
i separate bc the instructions are diff; use the same detergent as us
anything with poop gets a wash alone..:)
It doesn’t really matter at all, just keep it clean, it’s what really important to protect him/her from rashes, etc. If you want more information about these kinds of things, like babies and caring for babies try this site I found: http://www.PlanAFamily.com . It’s a nice looking site, with good information for mothers.
