i am not sure about food, i made my own. I bought a little food processor (under $10) and made apple sauce for him then i froze them in ice cube trays then put them into freezer bags. It was perfect serving sized. As for on toys and stuff try a place like home depot or even wal-mart they sell at home tests just for this purpose. You are right to be concerned. Good luck to you. there are kits you can buy that you can test for lead…on a variety of surfaces your local hardware store more than likely carries them
