What is more lame; the overpriced toys, or the parents who buy the overpriced toys?
psh, my coworker brings her baby to work (11 months) and his favorite thing is any basket he can put things in and take things out of, our coil key ring that he can stretch out and watch recoil, and colored paper because that is what he sees us using the most. Most of his toys he ignores, so we gave him a little boat, a plastic orca, and a crystal light tube with a bell in it and he is peachy. He likes to sit in boxes too so he can put all his toys out and then pick them up again.
My least favorite thing about today’s toys is how annoyingly noisy they are! I like the ones that play music, but the rest of the “talking” ones are just annoying.
My daughter is the same way! She pays no attention to her toys, she wants my cell phone, TV, Lap top, tv remotes, baby wipe container, she would rather play with her jolly jumper than in it, she wants to play with plants and stereos. I bought her a play phone so she would stop trying to get mine, that lasted 2 minutes then back to my phone. She is 9 months.
Yeah I agree, I love the baby Einstein, fisher price and sassy toys but there rediciously over priced good thing for Ebay!
My son also loves the cell phone he always wants to eat it lol.
I agree. Baby toys are made to make money. People get lured in by the promises of your baby learning all sorts of wonderful things, and that this toy is the only way the can, in reality, it’s not true.
When I nannied a while back, the children/baby would play with cardboard boxes, material, pots and pans, containers, bits of wood, natural items from outside like shells, pine cones and leaves. Water play, sand play and things like play dough are also super!
Much more fun, and free!
