Go to a church or a women’s shelter, they will help you out.
go online to http://www.wiits.com or find a place that is the witt company they give away anything that is baby stuff
are you eligibale for a grant from the government? if you are benefits you can apply for a grant to help with baby costs – I got £500 when my son was born – and didnt have to pay it back.
try charity shops for cheap baby things – often with a good wash you’d never know the difference – and babies grow so quickly its not worth buying new
also try a Crisis Pregnancy center, you can get items if you attend a class. All for free. Churches are good places, or you could put an ad on craigslist, you never know what you might recieve.
When my son was born over 3 years ago I went to ebay searching for baby stuff. I found a seller that had composed a list of websites that gave free stuff, and it was legit. I bought it for 1 cent and went to all these sites on the net typing in my name, email address and mailing address.
In a week or so, all this stuff came in the mail. samples, diapers, bottles, all that stuff, and lots of it.
Go to ebay and just start searching all the baby related categories for free stuff.
freecycle.org then find where you are located
Register on all of the baby sites, Pampers, Huggies, all the formula companies, etc. The formula companies send samples and valuable coupons. The diaper companies don’t send samples, however, they send pretty good coupons. Go to your local health department. They can set you up on a program for the baby for formula at least. Without that expense, maybe the other stuff will be a bit easier. Hope this helps…
Go to your local social services. I’m sure you’ll get food stamps, money, insurance and all sorts of things.
You can also tell your family and friends that if they have any old baby items you’d be willing to take them off their hands.
sorry besides welfare i don’t know
I live in FL and (locally) you can go to the sheriff’s office or the health department and they will give you a free car seat. Definitely go to your local health department and find out what programs there are to help to get free baby stuff (as far as cribs, etc.) There is a also a program called WIC which will give you food vouchers for your pregnancy and once the baby arrives for things such as milk, eggs, cereal, juice, etc. (and once the baby is here- formula! which can be extremely expensive if you can’t breastfeed) For health insurance you can get Medicaid or medicare (medi-something:) I’m not quite sure of the name, but I had a girl friend that was on it and it was HUGE help and the doctors were good, too. Also, talk with someone about throwing you a baby shower, maybe a close friend at work or a relative. Good Luck! I know how stressful it is to prepare and have everything ready for baby. Just remember women have been having babies for a LONG time with out pacifers, bouncers, special diapers, wipe warmers, car seats, etc. to help them. You are all your baby needs at first- the rest will come.
