do a 1/4 of bleach to 3/4 of water soak and then rinse… they should be fine then. that is how they do it at my friends day care center each day.
Listen to your mother.
They’re going to fall on the floor in no time. So unless you’re boiling or otherwise sterilizing your floors… And, consider how well you wash your dishes — do you pre-clean them before washing them normally? (Actually, running the toys through the dishwasher would be the easiest thing to do, if they can take it)
Whatever cleaner you choose, be sure they are well-rinsed and especially well-drained and dry before putting them into service.
Use an antibacterial spray. Either one of those multi purpose sprays that kill 99% of germs, or the clorox safe to use around kids 99% spray. If you use a multi purpose, wash the toys in soapy water when you’re done, as the kids will put them in their mouths and you don’t want remainder of the cleaners going into their mouths.
i know they say not to wash stuffed animals in the washer, but i’ve been doing it twice a month for almost 4 months. i run them through the dryer as well. there is a new spray from clorox. i’ve recently misplaced my bottle, so i can’t tell you exactly what it’s called, but it is safe around pets and babies. you can spray that on the plastic toys and either leave it or wipe it off. i wipe it off. it’s on the commercials a lot, and they sell it at walmart. i use that everyday because my daughter is into everything now, and stuff gets sticky. it works good on my dog bowls, the changing table, the crib, the counters, the trash can, just about everything. good luck!!!
If they are soft, run them through the clothes washer with hot water. If they’re plastic (and not electronic!), the dishwasher. Anything else, wipe down with diluted vinegar. It’s antibacterial, and any residue it leaves on the toys is perfectly safe to go in your baby’s mouth (bleach is not).
Congrats on your upcoming little one!
Put them in the top portion of a dishwasher and wash them.
